About us
CPS – Chinese Professional Society held its first meeting in August 1980. A few friends in the medical, finance and engineering fields got together with the purpose “to establish a social platform where upon men and women may share their abilities and interests”. The society encourages activities that will facilitate sharing of hobbies and interests amongst the members. The Society also supports service projects that will benefit the Chinese Community. (May be now we should say Asian Professional Society?)
Over the years we have organized Beauty Pageants and Fund Raising Dances. Supported Chinatown Senior Service Center, Career Day for High School students, essay competition on topics that concern the Asian community, donate Chinese newspapers for San Gabriel Library.
Activities for the members included: Family Picnic, Family camping, Harbor cruises, Chinese New Year dinner celebration, Halloween parties, Las Vegas Trip, Karaoke Lessons- every Saturday, Hollywood Magic Castle lunch, Dog Party, Pantage Theater movie, Field trips-Hiking, Huntington Library field trip, Cherry Picking (June 2025), Santa Anita Race track Breakfast (either July or September 2025), Yaamava’ Cassino(2026Q1), La Puente Firing Range experience, Western Line Dance ( Q2-2026).
